Soundwaves 2011

"You get invited to all of the right places." Mayor Dick Anderson made this comment to me during a fundraiser reception I was photographing for the Soundwaves Concert Series in Lincoln City yesterday. It's true. Having a photography studio in a small town on the Oregon Coast does lend itself to many photography opportunities. I'm very fortunate. The past eight days have been filled with hours of rehearsal and performance photography. It has been an honor to be the "event photographer" for Soundwaves 2011. This is a concert series developed to raise funds and support for art education in our local schools. World-class musicians come from all over the world to collaborate and make music. While primarily a classical music experience, this year a taste of jazz was introduced. The passion, energy and talent of the musicians was palpable. My mission has been to create images that express the process and power of their creativity. I will be posting a sample of images in the next couple of days.

It was a high-energy week surrounded by wonderful, accommodating and talented people. It will be fun to share the experience with you.
